Geoff Johns Teases New DC TV Series & Watchmen-Related Comic

This 2017 may finally be the year for DC.

In what appears to be a best DC 2017 list on Twitter, Geoff Johns has enumerated of the things that every DC fan should be watching out for—starting with the tease of a new comics in his drawing board.

The only clue to this project is a zoomed-in image of Watchmen's Dr. Manhattan. The first thing that comes to mind is the crossover between DC and Marvel that was already previously teased. For those who can remember, Batman had seen the smiley pin that's pretty much the signature of Alan Moore's acclaimed work.

There are, of course, mentions of the awaited DC films, starting with Wonder Woman and Aquaman. NetherRealm Studios' Injustice 2 sequel is also coming. And just before greeting everyone a great 2017 ahead, Johns teased this bit of news.

Let's focus on that last statement. We're getting another TV series apart from what we've already seen so far.

Already, DC fans can enjoy The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow on The CW, and Gotham and Lucifer in Fox. Granted, these shows have fared a lot better in terms of viewer reception than their movie counterparts, so another one in the works is not out of the question.

A handful of fans want some Birds of Prey series. Considering that Gotham City Sirens is also now a confirmed movie, the fact that the damsels of DC are getting some attention can't be denied.

Personally, I'm leaning more towards a Teen Titans series. Superman is always a nice character to explore, but I will forever remain a Smallville fangirl to really invest in a new series again.
