Game of Thrones Season 7: Daenerys May Make A Surprise Visit in King's Landing

If you've seen the Season 6 finale of Game of Thrones, you already know that Daenerys and her army are on their way to Westeros, but how in how will she return in the show? According to sources speaking to Watchers on the Wall, scenes in Season 7 will feature Daenerys Targaryen at the Dragonpit. In the books, the Dragonpit was a place in King's Landing where the Targaryen rulers kept their dragons years before the events of the novels, but it was ultimately destroyed, with nothing but ruins left.

The report doesn't say when in the season the scenes will happen, or even that the Dragonpit will remain at its 'canon' location in King's Landing, but if it does, Daenerys' return in Westers will bring her so close to Cersei and the Iron Throne sooner than we expected.

Meanwhile, Maisie Williams shared her thoughts on the show coming to an end. Speaking to Variety, she said:

Good things must come to an end or they're not good anymore. It doesn't last forever and we've done what we came to do, it's time to wrap this up, and it will have the ending it was always supposed to have, and that's very special. David and Dan started writing this show knowing the end, not knowing that it might actually come around and we might be allowed to make that many [seasons] — at the beginning we were just willing to make one [season]. They started this with an end in sight, and so it's exciting to be closing it… I'm just excited to see everyone again – we start a lot later this year because winter has arrived, so that can't happen in sunny Belfast

Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere on HBO in 2017.
