Game of Thrones’ Sansa Teases the Character Change We May Have Been Waiting For

When Game of Thrones first debuted, it was hard to find a girl character worth getting attached to. We have a weakling of a pushover sister, a mean Queen Bitch with a family complex, and a princess wannabe whiny teenager. I remember holding out for Arya Stark, mostly because she was the only badass in the first season, girl-wise.

Fast forward six seasons after, and we've finally seen the hidden fire within Sansa and Dany (both literally and figuratively for the latter, in fact). For the seventh run of Game of Thrones, we might see something even more for the former.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sansa actress Sophie Turner stated that one of the storylines in the upcoming season will explore her own growth as a character. Specifically, we're now at that crossroads for her between succumbing to the women's role in the Stark family and being her own leader.

"She's seemingly in control for the first time—and it really suits her. She's kid of having a bit of a power trip. But she's also becoming more insecure, because there are threats to the power that she holds."

More than her own role, Turner also teased that the series is just ramping up with characters from the different franchise coming together for what could be the final face-off.

Game of Thrones will be back with season seven sometime in summer 2017.
