Game of Thrones Actors: Season 7's Faster Pace Will Excite You

The seventh season of Game of Thrones will be a wild ride as the pace of the story ramps up from previous seasons, according to Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Speaking to EW, Coster-Waldau says, "I feel like I'd been lulled into a different pace. Everything happened quicker than I'm used to … a lot of things that normally take a season now take one episode."

The penultimate season will only have seven episodes instead of the usual ten, and with all the major players already set, it's expected that things will be in full motion and there won't be a lot of time to slow down.

Jon Snow actor Kit Harrington also agrees with Coster-Waldau's thoughts about the new episodes: "This season is really different than any other season because it's accelerating toward the end, a lot of stuff collides and happens much much quicker than you're used to seeing on Thrones … it's so different than what everybody is used to. It's quite exciting."

Showrunner Dan Weiss explains why the pace is much faster in the upcoming season: "Things are moving faster because in the world of these characters the war that they've been waiting for is upon them. The conflicts that have been building the past six years are upon them and those facts give them a sense of urgency that makes [the characters] move faster."

Between the Night King and the White Walkers marching south, Daenerys and her army set to invade Westeros, and the Starks retaking Winterfell, things are definitely going to move faster.

Game of Thrones Season 7 is set to premiere on July 16.
