Game of Thrones might have to wait for a year or two till its eighth and final season sees release, however, it seems like Emilia Clarke has started preparing for her return with a dramatic new look for herself.
Taking to Instagram, the British actress showed off her new commitment to her Game of Thrones character, Daenerys, the mother of dragons. Though she usually goes around as a brunette when she's not on the set of the popular fantasy epic, Clarke's decided to take things to a new level by bleaching her hair the same color as Game of Thrones' Khaleesi.
" I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know," Clarke wrote on her post.
There's no telling why the Game of Thrones star would want to trade her beautiful brunette locks for a head of platinum-blonde. Daenery's elaborately braided wig was pretty convincing to look at, and it afforded the British actress a little anonymity every time she'd go around town (some fans had trouble recognizing the brunette as HBO's khaleesi).
Could Clarke really be ditching her wig? Could the series have Daenerys chop off her beautiful long tresses in order to ready herself for battle? Could the Dragon Queen cut her hair after losing a loved one? Let's wait and see.
Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres sometime 2018 or 2019.
