G.I. Joe's Elodie Yung Cast As Elektra For Daredevil Season 2

Elodie Yung has been cast as Elektra in Season 2 of the Netflix's original series, Marvel's Daredevil.

Yung, a French-born actress, is best known for roles in David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Elektra is a fan-favorite of the Marvel comics that serve as the basis for Netflix critically-acclaimed series, which stars Charlie Cox as the masked lawyer/vigilante Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil. Although we heard about Elektra in Season 1, she has yet to appear in the series. The casting description describes her as "a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock's past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle." (Jennifer Garner portrayed Elektra in the 2003 Daredevil film and in the 2005 spinoff).

"After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra's impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity," said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. "Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic bookrelationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for."

Yung isn't the only newcomer confirmed to join Season 2; last month, The Walking Dead'sJon Bernthal was cast as The Punisher.

Marvel's Daredevil returns to Netflix in 2016 with Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez stepping in to fill Steven DeKnight's shoes as showrunner. Do you think she's the right choice to play Elektra?
