Futurama Is Making A Comeback Through A “Different Avenue”

It looks like Matt Groegnin and David Cohen's popular science-fiction comedy series Futurama is making a comeback but not in the usual small screen and big screen formats.

The series which first premiered in 1991 ran for seven seasons and produced four movies, all of which did pretty well during their respective releases. Though it's been a while since there's been new Futurama material, Cohen tells fans that they can expect more to come soon.

In a recent Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, the Futurama co-creator says that there's a "different avenue" for the series and that the news is making its way this summer.

"There are no new TV episodes or movies in the pipeline at the moment. HOWEVER, here and now I promise a different avenue of exciting Futurama news later this summer, no kidding. Keep your expectations modest and you will be pleased, possibly. I am not allowed to say more or I will be lightly phasered."

There are a lot of possibilities on what this new "avenue" for a comeback might be. Could it be a new videogame? Could it be a new mobile app? Could it be a new graphic novel series? We'll have to wait and see. The good news is coming this summer.
