Fox Says Buffy The Vampire Slayer Is “Probably The Most Ripe Show” For Bringing Back

Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans have been waiting for years for a small screen reboot of the cult classic TV series and it looks like they just might get their way, well, if series creator Joss Whedon decides that it's time to reboot the show.

Though Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman says that Buffy The Vampire Slayer is "probably the most ripe show we have for bringing back" in the INTV conference in Jerusalem today (via Deadline), the network also avoids confirming a comeback for the supernatural series out of fear of not being able "to get out of the building alive."

However, Newman did admit that a reboot for Buffy The Vampire Slayer is something that the network talks about frequently.

"Joss Whedon is one of the greatest creators we've ever worked for. When Joss decides it's time, we'll do it," Newman said during the conference.

Unfortunately, while it seems like exciting news that Fox is considering bringing back Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Whedon seemed against the idea of rebooting the series, telling The Hollywood Reporter last year that when "you bring something back, and even if it's exactly as good as it was, the experience can't be."

Guess we'll just have to wait and see whether Whedon's changed his mind on the idea of bringing back Buffy now that the series is celebrating its 21st anniversary.
