Fox Issues Statement About Stuntwoman's Death on Deadpool 2 Set


Today, an unidentified stuntwoman on the set of Deadpool 2 died after doing a motorcycle stunt that went horribly wrong. 20th Century Fox's spokesman has issued a statement regarding the fatal accident, Entertainment Weekly reports.

"We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning. Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends, and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time," the statement said.

TMZ first reported the accident earlier today as they shared the details about the stunt. According to the report, the stunt rider was thrown into the air when her motorcycle crashed through Shaw Tower's ground-floor studio.

Vancouver Police Department confirmed the news in a statement which you can read below:

"Vancouver Police can confirm that a female stunt driver has died on the set of Deadpool during a stunt on a motorcycle. VPD officers are at the scene, along with officers from WorkSafeBC. More information will be released when it is available."

While the identity of the stuntwoman is still unknown, many are saying that she may be playing the stunt double for Domino (played by Zazie Beetz).

Deadpool 2 is set to release in theaters on June 1, 2018.
