Forest Whitaker is Excited to Return as Saw Gerrera in Star Wars Rebels, Watch the First Footage

Earlier this week, it was reported that The Clone Wars and Rogue One character Saw Gerrera would be appearing in Lucasfilm's animated show Star Wars Rebels. Forest Whitaker, the actor who played the character in Rogue One, is set to reprise his role in a series, and he recently took it to Twitter to express his excitement and reveal the first footage of his character the show.

In the featurette discussing the character, Star Wars Rebels Executive Producer Dave Filoni describes his as the "original Rebel" who started what would become the Rebel Alliance. The video looks back at the character's history and how he knew that the Empire was building a Death Star. The creative team discuss the inclusion of Saw Gerrera in Rebels. We also see some cool production art.

Saw Gerrera is coming to Star Wars Rebels in January 2017.
