First Look at the Villains of Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender

Voltron: Legendary Defender will debut on Netflix this coming Friday, but the streaming company is giving fans a first look into the series' villains, showing who our heroes will have to go up against.

A reboot of the 1980s series, Dreamworks' Voltron: Legendary Defender follows five teenage heroes tasked to battle evils in the galaxy. The unlikely protagonists battle their opponents by using flying robot lions which transform into the powerful Voltron.

Here is the main villain, Emperor Zarkon (voiced by Neil Kaplan). the Galra Empire's sinister leader, Zarkon has been searching for the Voltron lions for over 10,000 years.

Beside Zarkon in the image above is Haggar (voiced by Cree Summer), Zarkon's loyal adviser. An ageless, psychic witch, Haggar has formed her own community of followers set on taking down Voltron. Here's Haggar below, presumably readyto pounce on our heroes with her magical powers.

Rounding up the Zarkon's gang is Commander Sendak (voiced by Jake Eberle), Zarkon's violent military leader who's willing to go down the extra mile in order to defeat Voltron and make his Emperor Zarkon proud. As can be seen in the image below, Sendak is part robot, after having lost an arm during battle and having it replaced with an appendage that has a laser blaster.

Here's Sendak and Shiro (voiced by Josh Keaton) going head to head:

The series includes the voices of Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead's) as Keith, Tyler Labine as Hunk, and Rhys Darby as Coran.

From previously released trailers, it's clear how the series will feature visually stunning details. Add to that the fact that the series has a pretty solid story, this will be a surefire hit.

There will be a one-hour origin story on Netflix, with 10 more episodes available for streaming on Friday, June 10.
