First Look at Young Newt in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

We know that Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will give us some more background on Newt Scamander's past, but we didn't know that we would be getting a flashback. Entertainment Weekly gives us a first look at Joshua Shea as a young Newt Scamander in Hogwarts.

If I were to guess, this scene would be the students lining up to go against a boggart, but seeing that Dumbledore is a Transfiguration professor, it could be a totally different story. Then again, those bones hanging from the ceiling look like the same ones that can be found in the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.

We don't know exactly how important Newt will be in the sequel, but based on the history of the Harry Potter-verse, this story will lead-up to the epic duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Then again, I would be amazed if the series goes a direction that nobody could predict.

Hopefully J.K. Rowling has a good plan laid out for this movie franchise. We don't want to feel like she's just making this up as she goes along.

Catch Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in theaters Nov. 16.
