When Square Enix confirmed the release dates for the DLCs coming to Final Fantasy XV, some were wondering why Ignis's expansion seems to have been left far behind compared to the two other playable characters.

Game director Hajime Tabata had given some insight on this to DualShockers. He stated that there had been some discussions on how they planned to release the expansions, showing that there had been some thought to how these decisions came about.

For the most part, Gladio's episode had always been slated to release first, as it will bring some enhancements for the action and battle gameplays for overall experience. The next slot was left between Prompto and Ignis. And even though Prompto proves to be the best friend, judging from the Brotherhood anime, Ignis's episode may have some game-changing aspects.

Ignis's episode will supposedly have a big impact on the story of Final Fantasy XV's main narrative. This change will deliver a solid experience, and one that is fitting to be delivered at the last stretch.

What exactly this big impact is, the developer has yet to give us hints of. Perhaps it will build on the earlier releases, including the upcoming update for the thirteenth chapter of the storyline.

Final Fantasy XV is already out on the PS4 and Xbox One.
