Final Fantasy XV Dev Teases Epic Music in GDC 2017 Teaser Trailer

Reception for Final Fantasy XV may be divided at best, but with its recently teased character creation tool and upcoming DLCs, this may help turn a few negative frowns upside down.

One other thing that may help would be the epic music, which Square Enix will expound on in its GDC 2017 presentation. The developer has released a short teaser, which touches on the different facets that will be discussed at the panel.

"Interactive music is common in AAA games, but in games like Final Fantasy that always have a strong melody line and musical progression, it doesn't go well in the same way. Square Enix worked to make an intelligent music system called "MAGI", that allows composers to create music in any tempo or measures and has customized sync points to make it interactive while remaining epic. In this talk, the sound team behind Final Fantasy XV will share how they created actual music data in their proprietary authoring tools, and issues they faced during implementing them such as synchronization with game scene and looping, fading, etc."

For the GDC 2017 presentation, Square Enix will feature its Audio Programmer Sho Iwamoto at the hour-long talk.

Square Enix has recently also released an interesting survey for Final Fantasy XV to get some feedback from the fans. Some of the questions are fairly standard info ones, but there are some that are worth sharing with the developer to give them some ample feedback about the game that could help future installments.

Give the survey a whirl via the link here.
