Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Probably Be Released By 2023

If you're hoping to get your hands on the highly-anticipated remake of Final Fantasy VII, you may want to find other games to occupy your time and mitigate the agony because it probably won't be out until 2023.

Development lead Naomi Hamaguchi, producer Yoshinori Kitase, and Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura reportedly had a conversation at the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary celebration event in which they confirmed a release window for the upcoming role-playing game.

According to a transcript shared by someone who attended the event, the guesstimated release window for the FinalFantasy VII remake is by 2023. These types of games could take years to develop. It took more than a decade to develop Final Fantasy XV, so this isn't surprising. However, Hamaguchi seemingly thinks this is unacceptable, so the team is working hard to have it released at an earlier date.

In a recent update, the Lifestream user who shared the transcript said that the lengthy timeline jab was meant to be a jest. Square Enix hasn't made a comment about this matter yet.

It looks like the Final Fantasy VII Remake is far from done but at least we have some idea when it will be out.
