Fantastic Beasts 2 Will ‘Almost Entirely’ Take Place In Paris

With Newt Scamander travelling to America and leaving by the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the sequel continues Newt's journey around the globe, with the majority of the film said to be set in Paris this time around.

The Paris setting was confirmed by producer David Heyman with EW, but he hasn't given any other details on what will happen in the city. Paris was definitely not a place that was explored in the Potter films before, but we did have some French wizarding students come over to Hogwarts in Goblet of Fire. Perhaps we could get our first look at the Beauxbatons school of witchcraft and wizardry?

Besides the continuing story of Newt and his gang, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will have almost a lot of new characters including Albus Dumbledore and Newt's brother Thesus. We'll also be getting more of Zoe Kravitz's character who turns out to be a Lestrange.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

As he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause — elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina (Katherine Waterston), Queenie (Alison Sudol) and Jacob (Dan Fogler), but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is set for a release on Nov. 16, 2018.
