Fans Want Movie Wonder Woman To Be Bisexual

Thanks to author Greg Rucka, Wonder Woman has been more openly accepted as a bisexual superhero. While comic book fans are pretty open to the idea - she did grow up on an island filled with women after all - it might be a harder pill to swallow for modern audiences. It looks like some fans want the character's queerness to be in the upcoming films since a petition has been opened to make her movie counterpart bisexual.

Gianna Collier-Pitts, a GLAAD campus ambassador, has opened a petition on Change.org to get Warner Bros to make the DC superheroine bi. It currently has 3,183 supporters, with 5,000 needed to finish it. Considering how fast this filled up, Warner Bros will likely get this in the near future.

DC Comics recently won an award for their LGBT representation, so making Wonder Woman bi could do wonders for their brand. Aside from her, the brand also has LGBT characters like Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Batwoman and The Midnighter. Making the most popular female superhero ever bisexual would be a boost to the community.

Wonder Woman was the critically acclaimed when it came out, gaining the highest ratings for a DCEU film. Gal Gadot will be reprising her role in a sequel with returning director Patty Jenkins in 2019, as well as this November's Justice League. She has also been rumored for the Flashpoint movie.
