Fans Now Agree That Aquaman Might Just Be Like Star Wars

Star Wars fans might have felt indignant after hearing Warner Brothers trying to market James Wan's Aquaman standalone movie as "Star Wars underwater" but it looks like some have started seeing the signs that the upcoming DCEU film just might have a few similarities to the Star Wars prequels.

Last Friday, the studio decided to give fans their very first look at Aquaman's Fishermen, a legion of fish-like beings that help guard the sea in ornate golden armor. Not only did we get to see Djimon Hounsou's Fisherman King, we also got to see his Queen played by Natalie Safran and the Princess played by Sophia Forrest.

Since the reveal fans have surprisingly found a few similarities between the Fishermen and the Gungans in the Star Wars prequels.

Everyone was a bit doubtful at first when Warner Brothers said that the film would be a watery version of Star Wars, but it looks like the studio wasn't joking at all. Now we're hoping the film manages to ride its way to success. Sure Wonder Woman might have been a hit, but the DC Extended Universe has had a lot of trouble finding its footing with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and more recently, Justice League. The franchise needs a new win, and we're hoping it's going to start with Aquaman.

Aquaman premieres on December 21, 2018.
