FX is Courting Jodie Foster for Y: The Last Man Series

Comic book fans were very excited to hear the news that FX would be turning Y: The Last Man into a television series. The original Vertigo comic book from Saga writer Brian K. Vaughn and artist Pia Guerra is considered to be one of the best stories in the medium, helping Vaughn be the superstar he is today, so knowing a television series is coming is exciting.

While there isn't any casting news yet, That Hashtag Show is reporting that FX is trying to get Jodie Foster to star in the show. Apparently, they want her to play as Jennifer Brown, the mother of main character Yorick.

In the Y: The Last Man comic, Jennifer is a congresswoman from Ohio. Her role in the government plays a large part in the series as countries around the world grapple with losing the entirety of the male race. The loss affects everything from day to day life to the future of humankind.

Foster is a fairly talented actress, as anyone who has seen Silence of The Lambs will tell you, and she should be a great fit as Yorick's mother. Yorick himself hasn't been cast, so it will be interesting to see who plays as Earth's last man.
