FX CEO Convinced Donald Glover's Deadpool Series Isn't Dead

A lot of people were bummed to find out that the Deadpool series that Donald Glover was working on got cancelled before it even aired. FX CEO John Landgraf had revealed that this was due to a decision by Marvel. Landgraf, however, is convinced that the show still has a possible future down the line.

Landgraf tells Variety:

"I think that Marvel will revive it because they have the rights. They own the IP and they have the rights to do an animated adult series based on any of the X-Men characters, and based on Deadpool specifically."

We still don't know the reason why Marvel decided to cancel the show, but hopefully it has something to do with the Fox/Disney merger that could be finalized next year.

With Glover's fantastic work on the Atlanta series for FX, a lot of people were looking forward to what he had to bring for Deadpool. Hopefully if a series does get picked up, it will be in the same vein as the Ryan Reynolds films as compared to some PG-13 watered down version.

I'd settle for something with the same rating as Rick and Morty actually.

We still have no idea if the Deadpool series will ever get picked up, but hopefully we get an update when the merger is finalized next year.
