FX Backs Out on Donald Glover's Animated Deadpool Series

FX had made an amazing show with Donald Glover with Atlanta, and Glover was set to make an animated series based on Marvel's Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. Apparently, the show won't be moving forward anymore.

According to Variety, the Deadpool show was cancelled due to ‘creative differences,' but that doesn't mean that FX has cut their deal with Marvel. The two companies will still continue their relationship via the Legion TV series.

With Glover constantly scoring homeruns, what with the critical acclaim of Atlanta and landing a role in Solo: A Star Wars Story, it will surely come as a disappointment that his Deadpool show won't be moving forward. Hopefully he can make it work with some other network, considering if Marvel TV will allow him. Hopefully Netflix will want in on this animated Deadpool series.

With FX being home to some very mature shows—specifically the fantastic Archer—it would have made a lot of sense that they would produce something like Deadpool. We still don't have details on why it all fell out with Glover, but hopefully we find out sometime soon.

The series won't be coming out now, but we can catch the live-action Deadpool 2 in theaters May 18.
