Ex-Alias Actor is Ready to Join the Star Wars Franchise

The buzz that Star Wars: The Last Jedi created was something that's hard to ignore. Between so many theories about what exactly that title could mean for the storyline and the remaining original characters, there's also hope of a great movie following its predecessor and the recent Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Expectedly, more people are expressing their interesting in being part of the franchise. And the most recent of these is actor Michael Vartan. While the actor has also been interested in a reboot of the spy drama, he was not one to pass up the chance to give a quick shout-put to ex-boss and Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Vartan hinted teasingly that he was ready to go to a galaxy far, far away, if given a chance. His line of reasoning was that he managed to convince the director to make his character in Alias become a hockey fan. For those who followed the series, you may remember Michael Vaughn, Sydney Bristow's handler and husband, was a good hockey player as well.

"I told J.J. ‘Hey, why don't we make the character a hockey fan?' Well, this was back in the day before he was J.J. ‘Hey J.J., I look good [with] a lightsaber."

Considering Abrams's role in the Star Wars movie franchise, it's not a bad move to give a quick shout-out to him, especially if you've already worked once before. But personally, I can only imagine Vartan playing a good-guy role. Don't give him a Sith role, please—even if that's the only other character to wield a lightsaber.
