Ewan McGregor is Tired Of Fans Asking Him For Another Star Wars Film

Ever since the Star Wars franchise was revived with The Force Awakens the past few years, Ewan McGregor, the actor who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in George Lucas' prequel trilogy, has been asked a bunch of times if he would reprise his role, because why not? After all, McGregor's performance as Obi-Wan was one of the best parts of the prequels. He had a cameo in The Force Awakens, cleared up rumors of a spin-off film, and discused his view on starring in another Star Wars film in the past few months, but now, it seems he could care less about it.

During an interview with Parade, McGregor was asked about what he thought about Star Wars fans who ask him about doing another film, he said:

"I like the films that I made with George Lucas and I'm happy to be part of the legend of it all, but that's it with me. I don't really understand the fanaticism about it. I'm asked by everybody all the time, "Would you do another one?" and I've said, "Yeah, I'd be happy to," because I think there's a film between Episode 3 and Episode 4, which is when Alec Guinness is in the desert. But I've been asked about it so much now that I'm being criticized for trying to persuade Disney to make this movie. I only responded to people asking me about it, and now it looks like I'm sort of looking for work, which is humiliating. I couldn't care less if it happens, but when Star Wars people ask me if I would do it, the answer is yes, so that's how I feel about it."

So there you have it. I really hope the third standalone Star Wars film would focus on Obi-Wan Kenobi, and if that ever happens, McGregor should be the only actor they'd consdier.

So would you like to see an Obi-Wan film with McGregor?
