Dragon Ball Super Animator Seemingly Confirms The Series' End

Despite immense popularity, it looks like Toei Animation will be ending Dragon Ball Super in March, much to the dismay of fans. At first, most viewers assumed that the series would simply go on hiatus, which isn't unheard of in the world of anime. However, a tweet from one of the series' animators may have confirmed that March is the end of the latest Dragon Ball anime.

Tsutomu Ono (translations via Comicbook.com) said Episode 126 will be the last episode he would animate and that he found out about the news yesterday. Ono said that he thought the show's end was just rumored until the story was published. He later thanked the fans for their support, saying that Dragon Ball would live forever.

Now, this isn't going to be the end of Dragon Ball in general. A new film detailing the history of the Saiyans will be coming out this year. The Dragon Ball Super manga is still ongoing and fans of the Funimation dub still have episodes to wait for. We're also getting Dragon Ball FighterZ next week for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Fans can keep watching Dragon Ball Super on Crunchyroll, even when the series ends. It's been one hell of a ride, filled with ups (the Universe 6 arc and the current Tournament of Power, some great filler episodes) and downs (the latter half of the Goku Black arc, having to sit through Battle of Gods and Resurrection F again). If we ever get another Dragon Ball show, it will probably be just as popular.
