Dragon Ball FighterZ: Android 21 Will Be a Playable Character After All

After months of fan speculation, Bandai Namco has confirmed that Android 21 will be a playable character in Dragon Ball FighterZ. However, fans probably weren't expecting her to have a new form or to have moves that make the original character more like Majin Buu than the Androids in the Dragon Ball lore. It's an interesting reveal to be sure and it's good seeing more playable female characters in a Dragon Ball game.

Revealed by V-Jump (with scans from ShonenGamez), the character is now more demonic than what fans were used to. It will be interesting to see how she's connected to the Majin and the Red Ribbon Army, making the game's story mode much more interesting than it originally was.

She has an interesting move called Tasting Cut, which grabs the opponent and absorbs their energy. This also lets her learn one of the opponent's moves. If Android 21 does this move to Goku, she will be able to use Kamehameha. If Krillin gets hit by the move, she can use Solar Flare. Fighting game fans will have a fun time experimenting with her.

Finally, Android 21 has an ultimate move called Hungry Time, which turns the opponent into a macaroon for her to eat, linking her to the Majins even more. Majin Buu (Fat Buu) and Kid Buu also have similar moves, with the Fat Buu turning opponents into cookies and Kid Buu making them chocolate or candy.

Dragon Ball FighterZ comes out on January 26 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
