Doom Patrol is Coming to DC Universe, Shares Same Universe With Titans

Things are about to get weird for the DC Universe streaming app and that is far from a bad thing. Doom Patrol has been officially announced for the service and will be set in the same universe as the previously announced Titans. In fact, the oddball group will be debuting in Titans first before their series comes out.

According to DC, the first season of Doom Patrol will be 13 episodes and is set to debut some time in 2019. It will be produced by Berlanti Productions and have Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns, Jeremy Carver, and Sarah Schechter as executive producers.

Fans will be happy to know that the group will be comprised of classic members like Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief, Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane. What should get plenty of attention is the fact that Cyborg will be giving them a mission. It's not yet clear if this will be a brand-new iteration of the character or Ray Fisher's version from Justice League.

It's worth noting that Titans member Beast Boy was also in the group, so they can always play that up in the series. Expect a couple of crossovers in the future since they will be in the same continuity.

Doom Patrol is slated for a 2019 release. DC Universe will come out later this year.
