Donald Glover's Deadpool Animated Series Will Try To Be Different From The Movies

Donald Glover may have made a cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming as Miles Morales' uncle, but he's also developing an adult-oriented Deadpool show for FX with his brother. Though the show probably has the success of the Deadpool movie to thank, the series is said to try and bring something different compared to the movies.

During a panel at TCA 2017 (via ScreenRant), FX head John Landgraf explains:

"Deadpool will be really different from the movies. It has a different tone and editorial voice. [We] wanted to make something distinctly different from the movies."

A lot of confidence has fallen unto Glover thanks to his work on another FX series Atlanta. What's interesting is that Atlanta star Zazie Beetz got cast as Domino in the actual Deadpool 2 movie, and now the showrunners for Atlanta are working on a Deadpool series.

Marvel actually has a lot of animated series in the works, but Deadpool promises to be different in the sense that it will be aimed towards adults. There hasn't been any news on the casting or some concept art for the show, but hopefully fans will be pleased with Glover's interpretation of the Merc with the Mouth.

No release date has been set for the Deadpool TV show, but it's safe to say that the series could be aiming for a release in 2018. Deadpool 2 comes out June 1 the same year.
