Dominaria Preview: First Saga Magic: The Gathering Card Revealed

Last week, the Release Notes for the Dominaria Magic: The Gathering set were leaked, and it revealed the new mechanics like Legendary Sorceries and a new kind of Enchantment called Saga. These cards enter the battlefield with a lore counter, and it comes with chapter abilities that trigger when a lore counter that is put on the Saga causes the number of lore counters on the Saga to become equal to or greater than the ability's chapter number (You can read more about how they work here.)Today, Wizards of the Coast has officially revealed the first Saga card:

That looks pretty weird. If you noticed, there's a Phyrexian watermark on the left side of the card. Since Saga cards are text-heavy, it makes sense that the text box is formatted that way. Phyrexian Scriptures will probably be expensive. It's easy to see why the card is Mythic Rare: it can wipe the board and save one of your creatures. Its third chapter ability can also help get rid of Rekindling Phoenix and creature cards your opponents can bring back with Scarab God. Many Commander players would love to play this card. Now, I can't wait to see how the rest of the Saga cards look.
