Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Coming to PS4

PS4 players will be getting an exclusive fighting game from the Final Fantasy franchise.

A new listing over at Amazon revealed the details of this game, titled Dissidia Final Fantasy NT (via Gematsu). The new game will be an arcade fighting title, created by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja arm.

The listing doesn't seem to be a fake one (it's still up as of writing), as it details a number of key features that pretty much give us a good picture of what to expect:

"Dissidia Final Fantasy NT introduces squad-based battle gameplay by allowing you to wage war with over 20 of your favorite Final Fantasy characters. Combining unparalleled visuals, seamless gameplay, and your favorite characters from the past 30 years of the franchise, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT welcomes all gamers with three-versus-three battles and the series renowned "bravery combat system". While aiming for supremacy, call forth familiar summons like Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin to aid you and your party! Square Enix is collaborating with Team Ninja, one of the world's leading developers in the fighting game genre, to bring Dissidia Final Fantasy NT to life."

Among the features include 20 playable heroes from the Final Fantasy franchise, both from the side of the heroes and the villains. There will be 10 battle arenas, loads of legendary summons, weapons, and even moogles.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT also marks Noctis triumphant return from Eos as a combatant. But the narrative will be an all-new Final Fantasy story. Slated to helm the writing is Kazushige Nojima, responsible for a lot of the titles, including Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Kingdom Hearts.

Like other fighting games, battles won and waged are equivalent to XP and gil that will allow players to customize their champions. There's also a bravery combat system, so those who are interested in a more methodical approach to the game can bank more on their skill than luck.

The new Final Fantasy title seems focused on the fighting mode as there will be no Story Mode. But given how there is a narrative being penned, there will be a story outside the arcade version.

Square Enix will make Dissidia Final Fantasy NT available as a playable title at the E3 2017, so that's a nice venue to sample what it has in store.
