Disney Reportedly Thinking Of Keeping James Gunn’s GOTG 3 Script

There's been a lot of concern over the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise ever since Disney decided to fire director James Gunn after an alt-right smear campaign brought back a few offensive and inappropriate tweets made 14 years in the past.

Earlier today, rumor started spreading that Disney had tossed the script Gunn had created for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, suggesting that the film's production would be delayed while the Mickey Mouse House tried to find a new director for the project.

However, it seems like a detailed write-up by The Hollywood Reporter contradicts these rumors, saying that Disney is actually planning to use Gunn's script for the third and final Guardians of the Galaxy installment. Though Disney has yet to confirm THR's new report, it would definitely make sense for the company to go with the script that Gunn already wrote for the film.

Gunn, after all, has been in charge of the last two Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and the director already has a planned ending for everyone's favorite ragtag team of space thugs-turned-heroes. Keeping Gunn's script, or having the filmmaker remain as a scriptwriter or consultant, would help retain the consistency of the Guardians of the Galaxy brand, which is very important to maintain since the franchise is down to its third and last film.

What do you think? Should Disney keep Gunn's script? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
