Disney & Fox Deal Reportedly Back On Track

The on again off again discussions between Disney and Fox are reportedly heating up again, according to a report from Deadline. Apparently, Disney is speedily progressing towards a deal to acquire the company's film and television divisions, which would be quite the boon for the House of Mouse. However, the report claims that if the reports are serious we won't be seeing any updates until the deal is done or canceled.

Here's the quote from Deadline:

Disney is progressing speedily toward that rumored acquisition of Fox. The version I heard has the Murdoch clan keeping possession of sports and news properties, and the rest of TV and the film studio going to Disney. Radio silence right now from both studios, and given how Disney made the Marvel and Lucasfilm deals under the cone of silence, if this happens we'll probably only know it when it's announced.

Most fans are hoping for Disney to buy Fox so that the X-Men and Fantastic Four can join Marvel's cinematic universe. Feige had previously stated that he would be interested in getting these properties back, but he doesn't expect that to happen anytime soon. The actors from the Avengers and X-Men side would also want this to happen so that they can crossover into each other's movies.

If the deal pushes through, Disney would also gain a ton of intellectual properties from Fox. The Simpsons is one of the longest-running series' on television, so Disney getting it would be huge. Fox also owns Alien, Predator, Avatar, and Family Guy among other properties, all of which the House of Mouse would love to own.

Will this deal actually push through? Only time will tell honestly.
