Did You Know Luke Was Wearing Vader’s Boots In A New Hope’s Poster?

Lucasfilm just celebrated the 40th anniversary of the very first Star Wars movie last week with a slew of new images and info on the latest film taken from a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. To further highlight the anniversary, the Lucasfilm's official Star Wars website also released an article about the "Seven things you didn't know about the original poster."

The original poster designed and painted by Tom Jung for A New Hope back in 1977 has arguably become one of the most popular images in the Star Wars franchise. According to the site, the image holds a lot of fun little secrets that every Star Wars fan ought to know.

In the poster, Luke is wearing a white version of Vader's boots (shin guards), Leia is holding Han's DL-44 blaster, C-3PO and R2-D2 were added on later by a different artist, the poster had a few wardrobe changes and newspapers in 1977 had to cover up Leia's leg when they ran ads for the film before its release.

While these fun little factoids don't really add much to the general knowledge on the production of A New Hope, they're pretty fun details that die-hard Star Wars fans can add to their quizzes and trivia.

The film from a galaxy far, far away is The Last Jedi which is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017.
