Did Mark Hamill Just Drop A Huge Star Wars: Episode VIII Spoiler?

Warning: This article contains possible spoilers for Star Wars: Episode VIII

Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker barely showed up in The Force Awakens, but he'll likely have a significant amount of screentime in Star Wars: Episode VIII. Whether or not we'll see Luke after that highly-anticipated film is anyone's guess, however, and Hamill may have just revealed a clue to his character's Star Wars future.

While interviewing Ray Davies at a London special event over the weekend (via Den of Geek), Hamill told the crowd that "I finish Episode VIII, and then I'm out of work", which could possibly hint that Luke Skywalker will not appear in the Colin Trevorrow-directed Episode IX.

The Force Awakens made it clear that the new trilogy won't shy away from major deaths if they serve the story, but it's possible that Luke will simply leave Ridley's journey and may just not be a part of Episode IX's story without facing death. We'll have to wait and see.

So do you think Luke Skywalker will die in Star Wars: Episode VIII?

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
