Diane Lane, Barry Keoghan, and More Officially Announced for Y: The Last Man

After years of development hell, it seems like Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra's Y: The Last Man is finally going to get a proper adaptation. Originally planned as a movie before plans fell through, the Vertigo comic will soon be a television series courtesy of FX and we now have a main cast for the show.

Deadline revealed that Barry Keoghan from Dunkirk and The Killing of a Sacred Deer is going to be Yorick Brown, the series' lead character and last man on Earth. Diane Lane was also confirmed as Jennifer Brown, the mother of Yorick and a Junior Senator. This is the second time Lane will be a comic book mom, the first time being in Man of Steel.

Imogen Poots will be Hero Brown, the sister of Yorick and daughter of Jennifer who starts the series of as an EMT before all the men start disappearing. Lashana Lynch will be Agent 355, a secret service agent who ends up being one of Yorick's closest allies in the comics. Juliana Canfield will play Beth, Yorick's fiance.

For those unfamiliar with the series' history, Y: The Last Man was a Vertigo comic book series that showed what would happen when there is only one man on Earth after a virus wipes out the gender. Yorick spends most of the series searching for his fiance while also having to deal with people who want to kill him since he is the last man.

No release date for the series has been revealed.
