Detective Pikachu 3DS Game Comes to the West this March

As fans wonder why a Detective Pikachu film is coming out, they might be happy to know that the original 3DS game of the same name is finally coming to the West. This is what the Ryan Reynolds film is based on, featuring a taking Pikachu and a boy who will help him solve some mysteries. No voice actors were announced for the 3DS game but Pokemon fans will just be happy to own the game after it seemed to be Japanese exclusive for years.

This version of the popular Pokemon mascot not only talks but also has dreams to become a great detective, hence the name of the game. According to the main Pokemon website, this Pikachu talks tough, loves coffee, and wants to solve mysteries so that he can become a great detective.

Detective Pikachu also has his "A Bolt of Brilliance" catchphrase, which the Pokemon says when enough clues are gathered to advance the case. There will also be Pika Prompts that pop up, which lets fans listen to Pikachu's quips and antics, while also giving players clues for what to do next.

Nintendo diehards will also be happy to know that a big Detective Pikachu amiibo is also coming out. It's not only larger than a regular amiibo but it also lets players view all the Pika Prompts that they've uncovered throughout their adventure.

Detective Pikachu comes out on March 23, 2018, for the 3DS. The movie of the same name will hit theaters on May 10, 2019.
