Deborah Snyder: Justice League Is About The Characters, Not The Directors

With all the news about Joss Whedon taking over after Zack Snyder and him not getting any director's credit, a lot of discussion and debate has been going on online on how Justice League is going to turn out. Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder's wife and longtime producer, comments on the whole situation and talks about what really matters when it comes to the movie.

During a press junket (via ScreenRant) for the film, Snyder explains:

"For us this whole thing is bitter sweet because we have been working on this franchise for the past, you know, almost 8 years when we started developing the script for Man of Steel, and then moved on to BvS and also Zack developed the story for Wonder Woman, which was leading up to the point of Justice League, where these charcters were finally going to come together, I mean this was a really great heroes journey and journey for these characters to be the characters that they are today, so not being able to complete his vision was extremely difficult, so that makes it hard, but we were lucky that we already had Joss working on script pages, and our feeling is that we're hoping people don't think about how the movie was made when they went to see it because these characters are bigger than any director. They're bigger than any of us, and we love and adore these characters, and we love and adore all these people here."

Surely a movie having a lot of tension behind the scenes can lead to how people perceive a film, but ultimately the only thing people remember will be the final cut of what they see in theaters. A lot of people still liked Ant-Man even after the whole debacle with Edgar Wright leaving, and Rogue One turned out to be one hell of a film even if Tony Gilroy was said to have made massive (uncredited) improvements.

Snyder or Whedon, what everyone is just hoping for is that Justice League will turn out to be an amazing movie. We have Wonder Woman to thank for giving the universe some traction, and hopefully JL doesn't stumble like the first three DCEU films did.

Catch Justice League in theaters Nov. 17.
