Deadpool’s Rob Liefeld Blames Sony for Lack of Venom in Latest Venom Teaser

A lot of people were eager to get their first look at Venom when the teaser dropped today, but was disappointed when the preview didn't even give us a good look at the symbiote suit. Rob Liefeld, who created Deadpool, is blaming Sony for rushing the trailer too much, and as a result, not being able to give us a good look at Venom.

In his Twitter post, he's calling out Sony for contacting writers who have been negatively bashing the trailer for its lack of Venom. He says:

Granted we've been getting a lot of reveals this week, it's understandable that Sony would want to join in on the hype. The problem is, fans would have been willing to wait if it meant we would at least see the full suit at some point.

Looking back at Spider-Man 3, any of the trailers didn't give us a look at the full Venom suit, but at least we got a small glimpse of it near the end. Here, we get a look at the symbiote, but not even a hint at what Venom's final form could be, just that logo in the end.

I'm all up for the element of surprise, but the trailer did leave me feeling kind of cheated. Was it too much to ask for at least a silhouette of Venom on a wall or something? Tease us properly, Sony!

Venom comes out Oct. 5.
