Deadpool Villain Joins The Cast Of The Hellboy Reboot

Deadpool baddie Ed Skrein has joined the cast of Neil Marshall's Hellboy reboot.

Currently in its early stages of pre-production, the highly anticipated Hellboy movie has been busy gathering its actors and actresses with David Harbour playing the unwilling Harbinger of the Apocalypse, Milla Jovovich playing the Blood Queen and Ian McShane playing Hellboy's adoptive father. Now, as the series continues to prepare for production, a new post by The Hollywood Reporter reveals that another star has joined the roster.

Known for his role as Francis in the record-breaking R-rated superhero movie, Deadpool, Skrein has been hired to play the role of Major Ben Diamio, a "a rugged military member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense who, due to a supernatural encounter, can turn into a jaguar when angered or in pain."

Though it's uncertain how important Diamio will be in the upcoming reboot, Hellboy fans will remember that the character had a number of appearances in the comics, playing a significant role in defeating many of the threats in the Hellboy Universe. This includes the battle with the frog monsters in the War on Frogs, a Hellboy comicbook series that centered on the B.P.R.D.'s fight against the creatures.

The Hellboy reboot doesn't have a specific release date yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
