Just like the video game series got a reboot back in 2013, the Tomb Raider movie franchise is getting a fresh start as well with Alicia Vikander taking over the role that was previously filled in by Angelina Jolie.

Once again, we’re getting a Tomb Raider origin film, but it’s curious on whether the movie will follow the exact beats of the 2013 game or will have its own separate storyline. The hard thing about these video game movies is, the hype is always high, but the audience always walks out disappointed.

For now, Hollywood still needs to work out the kinks when it comes to making movies based on video games. I guess the only reason these things keep going is because they make a lot of money in the box office. Warcraft was a critical bomb domestically, but it still made a lot of money thanks to the fans.

The Tomb Raider reboot hits theaters March 16, 2018.
