With Deadpool 2 coming out in a few months, fans cannot wait to see how it turns out. The first film was a nice surprise and the sequel looks to be even bigger, with characters like Shatterstar, Cable, and Domino making their live-action debut. Speaking of Cable, today is Josh Brolin's birthday and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds greeted him in the best possible way.
On Facebook, Reynolds shared an image of Deadpool painting Cable as Brand from The Goonies. That role was one of Brolin's earliest roles and fans of the classic film got a good kick out of it. Plus, it fits the character so well, proving that Reynolds was the best possible choice to play as The Merc with a Mouth.
Considering how Deadpool and pop culture go together, we can probably expect more references like this in the sequel. Referential humor isn't everybody's cup of tea of course but if the second film has the same amount of action and heart as the first, it should still be a success.
Deadpool 2 comes out on May 18.
