Deadpool 2 Expected to Film Early 2017; He Hijacks X-Men: Apocalypse in The Meantime

The sequel to Deadpool is expected to start filming early next year, producer Simon Kinberg told Collider. While at the 42nd Annual Saturn Awards, the producer said that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese were currently working on a script for Deadpool 2. When asked further about the film, Kinberg said "I can only tell you that it's going extremely well and that's about all I will tell you about it. We want it to be discovered the way that we used to watch movies a long time ago when you didn't know everything about them before you went to go see them."

Kinberg also commented on the box office performance for X-Men: Apocalypse, which was significantly lower than the previous X-Men movie, Days of Future Past. "The truth is 'Days of Future Past' is sort of an outlier for an X-Men movie," he said. "We'd never made more than $500 million before, and 'Days' was kind of like our 'Avengers,' where we brought this sort of mega-cast together. We hoped this movie would do the same as 'Days of Future Past,' but we had a feeling that maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't."

Deadpool himself decided to hijack the Japanese X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer, commenting on five important things about the trailer and then promoting his own movie as he's the latest member of the "dysfunctional X-Men family." He also made fun of his own studio, 20th Century Fox, as you'd expect from that rascal. You can see the trailer (with Deadpool at the end) below:

I'm pumped for Deadpool 2 and tickled by his addition to the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer. Are you looking forward to the Deadpool sequel? What do you think will happen in it?
