David Prowse Shares Rare BTS Photos Of Vader Torturing Han Solo

Making a powerful impression on audiences the moment he appeared with his powerful gait and his heavy breathing in the very first Star Wars film released back in 1977, A New Hope, Darth Vader has indubitably become one of the greatest legends of the Star Wars franchise.

Though he obviously won't be starring in the sequel trilogy (well, not if Lucasfilm decides it's necessary to add in some Vader flashbacks), Vader's significance continues to resonate in the Star Wars saga. Reminding fans of his time as Vader back during the original trilogy, David Prowse, the English bodybuilder and actor who became the body of the villain while James Earl Jones became his voice, has recently shared a few photos from The Empire Strikes back.

Check them out here:

Taken from the scene where Vader tortures Harrison Ford's Han Solo after the Cloud City Betrayal, the images give us a closer look at the work put into the scene. In the film, we never get to see smoke coming out of Han's mouth, after the smuggler gets close to electrical sparks on the machine, the scene cuts out to Lando and Boba Fett listening to Han scream outside the torture chamber.

While these images have nothing to do with the sequel trilogy, they are quite rare photos that give us a glimpse of what production was like in George Lucas' sequel to A New Hope.
