David Hasselhoff Says He And Stan Lee Are Text Message Buddies

It looks like Marvel comic book legend and cameo king Stan Lee has a friend in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's surprise star, David Hasselhoff.

Attending the global premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp in Los Angeles, The Hoff got to speak with Marvel Entertainment reporters on the red carpet. There the actor let the world know that he and Stan The Man were actually pretty close text message buddies.

"This franchise started years ago... and that's where I met the legendary Stan Lee. I'm still meeting him - still texting back and forth. He's cool," the actor and singer told journalists at the Ant-Man and the Wasp premiere.

Not only that but when Hasselhoff was asked whether he and Lee talk often, the actor confirmed that they actually "chat a lot" together.

While Lee's been in the Marvel comic book industry since the start of time, Hasselhoff just recently joined the Marvel family when he appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as Star Lord's (Chris Pratt) fantasy father.

Knowing all the strange things that have been happing in Lee's life – the news of social media hacking, the bank theft, the supposed "elder abuse" – it's pretty great hearing that the Marvel legend recently found a friend.

You can catch Lee's latest cameo in Ant-Man and the Wasp when it hits cinemas on July 6.
