Dave Filoni: Disney | ABC Television Group/ Star Wars Rebels: Lucasfilm (modified with addition of Dave Filoni)
With Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 nearing, Lucasfilm is pumping up the hype. Just when you think the event is already filled with enough excitement, StarWars.com has just announced that the fan-favorite series, Star Wars Rebels, will be making its Season 3 premiere at the convention!
The official Star Wars site announced Star Wars Rebels executive producer Dave Filoni as the one to make the debut. He will be joined by other "special guests" for the presentation of the screening of Rebels' first two episodes.
Filoni already pretty much teased his appearance in Celebration during the Rebels Recon aftershow for Star Wars Rebels season 2's finale. He also teased major plot details about Season 3 at the time, where he said:
Something big is gonna happen that I think people really, really want, and that I know I've wanted for a while. We figured out a way to do it. It's a very important moment for Star Wars and very important for Star Wars fans.
There have also been rumors of a Rogue One and Rebels crossover prior to his statement.
In any case, we'll won't know until Celebration what Filoni's surprise is, but it will no doubt be exciting.
Filoni will be joined during the event by other big names like Warwick Davis, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher, as well as Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Rogue One director Gareth Edwards.
In recent weeks, Lucasfilm has also announced new Star Wars video games, a pin trading program, and a podcast stage lineup that fans can enjoy.
Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016 will be held at London's Excel Centre from July 15 to 17.
