Darth Vader’s Castle in Mustafar Might Appear In Other Star Wars Films

Darth Vader is one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history, a character commands attention and interest upon entry in any Star Wars film or series.

Fans have long since been hoping for a Darth Vader standalone film, and while Disney may be intending to slowly shift from the Legacy characters as it expands the franchise, an interview with Lucasfilm Executive Creative Director and Vice President Doug Chiang on Uproxx reveals that they have more plans for Vader's castle in Mustafar.

"It's interesting, we did a lot of history exploration. Why did Vader build his castle here? Why does it look the way it does? Why does he even come here? For us, it was really figuring out that Vader built his castle on an existing structure, which was this ancient lava dam. And he built it here for a very specific reason. It was to come back here to meditate, to rejuvenate, to reconnect with himself. And it became a very spiritual place, and it was all centered around his bacta tank. And that's where the form language all built around there. And we've done quite a bit of exploration of what's on the inside of it as well, and hopefully that'll be seen in some other film."

There's no mention of what film's the planet will appear in – it's very likely the planet could be explored in one of the Star Wars sequel trilogy installments. After all, Adam Driver's Kylo Ren is Vader's number one fanboy. If not, maybe we could hope for a Vader standalone. Disney knows how powerful Vader's influence is and a Vader solo would be too good to pass up. Let's wait and see.
