Darth Vader Actor David Prowse Will No Longer Be Making Any Convention Appearances Due To Health Problems

It's definitely been a while since David Prowse made any appearance onscreen in a Star Wars movie, but he still does frequent conventions and has a very active presence online. With his age, however, it looks like Prowse will be taking the backseat, and his official Twitter page has just announced this:

At 82-years-old, you'd think that Prowse was already too old to keep making these convention appearances. Hopefully he gets back on the horse and makes an appearance or two next year.

With his towering height, bodybuilder David Prowse provided the body for one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history. Darth Vader is a movie masterpiece which was brought to life by Prowse, and topped off with some ominous breathing and James Earl Jones' commanding voice.

Rumors have suggested that Vader will have an appearance in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, with Kylo Ren said to have made his way into Vader's castle in Mustafar. All that is still rumors or now, but a lot of people are guessing that the cape we see Kylo wear in the teasers is actually one that Vader has worn himself. Talk about a dedicated fanboy.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
