Dark Tower: First Photos of Idris Elba as The Gunslinger

After years of development hell, the film adaptation for Stephen King's The Dark Towerfinally started shooting last month, and now we got a first look at Idris Elba as the gunslinger Roland Deschain in the photos shared by The Daily Mail, but you can get a preview of those images in this tweet:

Elba looks badass with that duster, and I think he's going to be great in the role. The Dark Tower tells the story of Deschain, a gunslinger who clashes with the villainous Walter Padick, played by Matthew McConaughey. The film will be based on the first in Stephen King's eight-book series, called The Gunslinger.

Elba stars alongside Matthew McConaughey, Fan Kranz, Katheryn Winnick, Jackie Earle Haley, Abbey Lee, and Claudia Kim. Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul was also rumored to be involved in the film.

Nikolaj Arcel is directing The Dark Tower, which hits theaters on February 17, 2017.
