Dark Horse Announces God of War Partnership, Comics And Art Books Coming

Dark Horse continues to build up their video game resume' by announcing a partnership with Sony for the upcoming God of War PS4 game. The company will publish new art books and a four-issue comic series that will detail Kratos' struggle to be a father, now that he has a son to take care of. While fans are still waiting for a proper release date for the game, fans will be able to cope with these items, assuming the PS4 exclusive doesn't come out first.

First up is The Art of God of War, filled with plenty of concept art and interviews from the game's developers. There will also be a limited edition version of this art book, which will have a realistic leather-like cover with bright silver foil and red gilded pages, enclosed in a clamshell case with a cloth-textured lining. It will also include a cloth-covered collector's portfolio with two gallery-quality lithographs

Now for the comic book tie-in. Set for a vague 2018 release, the four-issue mini-series will be written by Chris Roberson of iZombie fame and drawn by Tony Parker. Details for the series are sparse, though we know it will have Kratos as a reluctant parent. It's not clear if the comic book will be a prequel to the main game, but it's definitely set after God of War 3 since it now takes place in Norse Mythology.

Like God of War on PS4, the Art of God of War will be available in early 2018. The comic book will be released in the year, but no release window was given.
