Daredevil’s Drew Goddard Has Been Hired To Write And Direct Deadpool Spinoff X-Force

With Cable and Domino being introduced in Deadpool 2, everyone thought that the X-Force would eventually make their appearance in a Deadpool movie. As it turns out, Fox is planning to spinoff the movie, and they now have a writer/director for the upcoming X-Force.

According to Deadline, Fox has hired Daredevil producer Drew Goddard to helm the movie. X-Force has also been described:

"A Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts."

We still have no idea who the final lineup will be for the X-Force movie, but sure enough, we'll be seeing Domino, Deadpool, and Cable join their ranks. Other members of the X-Force have already made their way onscreen like Warpath, Psylocke, and Wolverine, but Fox is probably planning on scrapping those characters for new ones.

It seems that Fox has suddenly found a split with their own Marvel universe, with one side focusing heavily on the X-Men, while the other (more fun) part having Deadpool in the center of it. I was already pretty tired when they announced Dark Phoenix, but I am all up for an X-Force movie!

No official release date has been announced for X-Force, but I'm guessing there'll be a teaser by the end of Deadpool 2.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters June 1, 2018.
