Danny Rand Shows Off More Martial Arts In Iron Fist Featurette

Iron Fist a.k.a. Danny Rand will be the last hero for the Marvel Netflix lineup before all the heroes team up for The Defenders, and a new featurette titled "I Am Danny" has been released, taking a closer look into Iron Fist's origins and his path to becoming a hero.

Finn Jones (Ser Loras from Game of Thrones) talks about his character Danny Rand, and the struggles that he goes through in the first season. Based on the trailer, Iron Fist's origins look pretty similar to that of Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins, where a wealthy kid loses his parents and is presumed dead while he goes off and practice martial arts in the mountains. Even the scene where Danny walks into his company and is not recognized by anyone is reminiscent to Bruce Wayne's return — only they didn't try to kick out Bruce Wayne.

One of the biggest concerns for the series is that, with the realism that the Marvel Netflix shows are going with, it could look like Iron Fist is simply a martial artist like Daredevil — only he isn't blind. The trailers, however, have assured that Danny will have his own set of superpowers in the form of "the Iron Fist," and he looks to fight with a more fluid style than that of Daredevil.

Finn Jones had this to say about his character: "He spent 15 years in a monastery training to become this warrior. This force that runs through the universe — the Fire of the Fist — Danny can ignite it."

Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Iron Fist comes to Netflix on March 17.
